Donella Meadows

Donella Meadows was an American environmental scientist, author, and teacher. She was born in Elgin, Illinois, 1941 and died in 2001. Meadows was a professor of environmental studies at Dartmouth College and was well known for her work on systems thinking and sustainability. She co-authored the book "The Limits to Growth," which explored the consequences of exponential growth in population and resource consumption.

Meadows also co-founded the Sustainability Institute, a research and education organisation that promotes sustainable development. Her other notable works include "Thinking in Systems: A Primer" and "Beyond the Limits: Confronting Global Collapse, Envisioning a Sustainable Future."
